A professional and social network for alumni - including from previously independent institutions that have been merged with Aarhus University (AU).
You are considered an “alum” when you have graduated, meaning you hold a bachelor’s, master’s, PhD, professional master’s, or diploma degree, or when you have completed an international exchange programme.
Students can join the network towards the final stages of their first degree or international exchange programme at AU.
Current or former employees of AU, who are not alumni of the university, are welcome to join.
The network has been established to support the development of strong and life-long relations between the university and its alumni as well as engaged and rewarding interactions between alumni and between alumni, students and employees.
We wish to help our alumni stay in touch with each other, and inform them about research, offers within continuing education, projects and resources at Aarhus University. In addition, we wish to help our alumni become involved in events, alumni days, special members-only offers and different kinds of “giving back” initiatives – e.g. as mentors, speakers, in fundraising or in establishing a local alumni chapter.
You will get the latest news direct to your inbox with inspiring alumni portraits, research news, exclusive membership benefits and other relevant offers for you as an alum.
You will receive invitations to academic and social events, some of which will be exclusive for members, giving you the opportunity to stay updated on what’s happening and develop connections with others within your academic field or areas of interest.
You will receive information about relevant opportunities for professional development and skills enhancement through various forms of further and continuing education.
You will become part of a large and exclusive network of currently more than 40.000 members in Denmark and the rest of the world.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to recruitment, the development of study programmes, career guidance, mentoring programmes, research collaboration, entrepreneurship, fundraising and more.
One overall network – a universe of knowledge and connections
Aarhus University’s Alumni Network is a unified network with a shared Alumni Newsletter, currently sent out three times a year, and a basic package of common membership offers.
At the same time, the network represents a diversity of academic fields. Aarhus University’s five faculties offer various opportunities to engage as a member, and many degree programmes have established discipline-specific alumni groups and associations within the framework of AU’s Alumni Network.
Arts has many discipline-specific alumni groups and associations that complement the offers and activities of the general Alumni Network.
Aarhus BSS has a strong faculty-level organisation of alumni activities, with coordinated news, events, and other offers.
Natural Sciences and Technical Sciences each have many academic departments with their own LinkedIn groups for alumni, which supplement the offers and activities of the general Alumni Network.
Your membership profile will include a record of which degree(s) or exchange programme(s) you hold from Aarhus University. These will be an important criterion for selecting the personalised information we send to you.
We hope you will join both the Alumni Network and any relevant alumni group or association related to your degree or exchange programme. This will help us send you both discipline-specific and general news and offers.
